What I'd do this weekend if we had extra money...

This weekend is the annual Balloon and Wine Festival locally. It seems like it would be such a fun event to attend. Unfortunately, it's out of our budget. I spent part of today daydreaming about what I would do if we had extra money this weekend. Here's my fairytale :)

- First off, I'd leave work a little early since it's a beautiful day and I'd grab my hubby and a few items from the house before we begin our lovely ride up the coastline.

- We'd stop for dinner at a quaint little restaurant along the coast so we can relax and enjoy the sunset together.

- Next, we'd continue along to our bed and breakfast, conveniently located right near the festival. We'd check in and take a walk over to the festival to enjoy a glass of wine by one of our favorite local wineries.

- After a leisurely stroll, we'd head back to our inn to get a good night's sleep since the weekend will be filled with lots of fun that we're sure to need energy for!

- Over the next two days, we'd sample delicious wines, taste scrumptious food, enjoy wonderful music and maybe even partake in a hot air balloon ride - if I can convince the hubby that he won't die. Late Sunday afternoon, we'd head back home with some new memories, a full belly and a little hangover.

So, that's what I'd do this weekend if we had extra money. Ahhh, it's fun to daydream!

Question : What fun activity would you do if you had extra money this weekend?

  1. I don't know why, but this post makes me so sad! It's like, I want more than anything for you to be able to have your special weekend! Is there any room in your budget for a "slimmed down" version of your fantasy weekend? Like, if you could pick up a bottle of wine or two and do a homemade cheese and fruit platter? I believe in depravation, but only if there are compromises made.
I hope you get to have a nice weekend anyway!
als, I was hoping you might check out the blog I've just started if you get the chance :)

  3. I wish I was spending the weekend riding my horse while my husband plays golf and then we meet up with friends for sushi. Instead I'm roasting at a garage sale trying to get some extra money to pay off debt....ugh...debt I hate you!!!

  4. What a wonderful weekend...I love the CA wineries..it's beautiful there.

Well, now that you have the weekend in mind, you can start saving to make it happen. And, by the way, you plan all my vacations too..you make them sound heavenly!

  5. Nice plan....minus the hot air balloon ride. I had nightmares about one after my daughters died, so I will skip that.

Me...If we are doing a non-kid weekend and assuming that someone is watching them...I would take a 3 day cruise. Somewhere tropical. Just long enough cruise to get my fill of food and sun, but not too long.

If it was a kid weekend....We would spend the day at a local amusement place, and sleep over at a nice hotel. Big breakfast in the morning, followed by a day at the pool.

  6. Hmmmmmm let's see. You mean i could do anything? Money's not a problem? Then I would charter a private jet and have them drop me off in PEI so I could see how my house there is doing. I'd take a big picnic lunch (and Michael of course) and we'd spread a blanket where we'd have a view of Casumpec Bay. We would drink champagne and eat local strawberries dipped in chocolate. Later we'd have a campfire, look at the stars and count our blessings:) That was a nice little dream!
