The Hunger Games!

I know I'm a little behind on jumping on the bandwagon, but I went to the movies this weekend with a friend for an early morning showing of The Hunger Games. For $6 each, we were able to enjoy the movie in an uncrowded theater (which is rare in my area). I really enjoyed myself. I had debated reading the books beforehand, but I didn't. I love a good story and felt this movie really came through and exceeded my expectations.

I truly enjoy watching a film and losing all track of time and becoming fully engaged in what's on the screen. As much as I'm into movies, I find that I experience this pleasure less and less. With The Hunger Games, I was totally into the creative story and the talented actors. I can't wait to watch the next films in the series.

I know that we're all trying to be frugal and spend wisely, but if you are looking for an inexpensive treat, I'd recommend catching this film.

Questions : Have you seen the movie or read the book? What did you think?

  1. I went to see Hunger Games the second week it was out, had to shell out $12 for my ticket, and it was totally worth it. I do still suggest reading the books. They are so good and have lots of detail the movie didn't. You can do what my BF did and just skip the first book and read the second and third before those movies come out.

  4. I`ve read all three books now, just finished the 3rd one on Sunday, and they were just as good as the first one. Haven`t seen the movie yet but will soon. Just fantastic - I haven`t enjoyed a book so much since Harry Potter!!

  6. I read the trilogy (devoured all 3 books in like a 3 week period) and then watched the movie. I highly recommend the books, they're just sooo much better. Same with The Help. I feel like people are really missing out if they didn't read the book.

  7. I actually just bought the trilogy for my GF, I'm not sure if I am interested in reading them but she read the first one in a couple days and is completely hooked so I know all the hype is worth something. I may just settle for the movie, then decide if the book is worth it.
