The numbers are in...

Today I decided it was time to do a status update, since it's been a while. We finally received our statement from CC #2, so I had all the numbers I needed.

Well, ta-daaaa! We have paid off $10K of our debt since we started this journey! Actually, most of it probably happened in the last 2-3 months. Before then we were focused on our wedding/ honeymoon/ paying the IRS, etc.

Now that we have all that behind us and we've made a pretty big dent, it's full steam ahead!

Also, thanks to the suggestion from Erika at Newlyweds on a Budget, I applied for a Citicard to see if I could somehow get a zero interest balance transfer for part of our debt. (I had already called my cards but they refused to lower their rates.) I found out today that we were approved! It's only for a small portion, but it will save us almost $400 in interest over the next year or so. That's not bad! Not bad at all.

  3. Woo Hoo for the transfer to the low-interest card! DH did that with a portion of his visa balance, and seriously, can I TELL you how good 1.99% feels after you've been paying like, 18%? Way. To. Go. (Also, thanks for checking out my blog! - us newly(ish)weds need to help eachother out!)
